Ordos 100

Twice House, Inner Mongolia, 2008

Ordos 100 was a 2008 residential proposal for Inner Mongolia. The project, Twice House, responds to the brief for a 1,000 sqm house by dividing the program into two interdependent forms: a protected ground-level retreat and a compact vertical villa.

The proposal reduces the building footprint while allowing the house to operate as one continuous residence or as two autonomous parts. A thick concrete envelope, layered walls, filtered openings, and circulation along the edge create a climatic buffer that moderates light, views, and movement between the desert landscape and the interior rooms.
